Hormone Replacement is simply a matter of replacing and restoring the hormones that are naturally made in your body but which have diminished over time or because of certain circumstances. Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy helps to treat the negative effects of aging.
Generally, men and women begin to produce fewer hormones over time. Although this decline primarily occurs as we age, many things can contribute to hormonal declines and imbalances, including stress, poor diet, lack of exercise, obesity, and some medical disorders.
We specialize in a comprehensive Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy program, which restores declining or imbalanced hormones, including thyroid, to normal functioning levels. Your hormones will be individually prescribed based on your individual lab results, symptomology, and medical history.
Hear From Our Patients!
Dr. Berutti is absolutely the best! I have tried many different things over the years to balance my hormones and got some relief but it was still a roller coaster for me. After being off all products for one year, I made an appointment with Dr. Berutti. They were up front about what the costs and protocol would look like. During my first appointment and discussing some of the things I have struggled with, she mentioned taking a SIBO test. Along with the SIBO test, which was positive, and other blood/saliva tests, she came up with a tailored plan for me and my symptoms.
Every 3 months she orders new test to see where the hormone levels are and how to adjust them. Now only 7 months in, I feel so much better than I did before and it is a consistent feeling. No more roller coaster. I can only imagine it will get better as time goes on. I knew going in what the commitment on my part would be but there is no “magic wand” that will just change everything overnight. Dr. Berutti is very focused on listening to what your concerns are and dedicated to helping you achieve feeling your best. Her office is an hour away from me but worth it to get the quality of service she provides. Recommend her 100%.” – Judy J.

Starting as a New Patient
When you start as a new patient at Dynamic Life Health Center, you will initially need two different appointments, approximately three weeks apart.
Your initial appointments at Dynamic Life Health Center will be an hour and fifteen minutes. At the first appointment, your provider will go over your reasons for seeking help, your medical history, your health goals, and all of your symptoms. This appointment will also serve to answer any additional questions you may have.
After that first appointment, your provider will lay out your individualized lab orders so that you can have all applicable testing done. Testing usually involves both serum labs and saliva testing. Saliva testing will include hormones and/or cortisol.
The lab panel is quite comprehensive and may include testing your sex hormones, a complete thyroid panel, checking for diabetes, A1C, blood sugar, cholesterol, liver and kidney function, micro-nutrient testing, and/or inflammation levels, among others. This testing is tailored specifically for you and is done from a functional medicine standpoint, looking for underlying imbalances or conditions that could be causing your symptoms and ensuring long-term wellness.
Your Second Appointment
At your second appointment, your provider will be able to explain any hormonal imbalances that you may have along with other deficiencies or abnormalities noted. She will prescribe the appropriate hormone replacement treatment protocol at that time and will discuss other measures to improve your overall health and wellness.
After prescribing your custom treatment protocol, we will want to follow up with you every three months during the first year to check your levels and continue to adjust and balance everything as ideally as possible for you. It can take 6 months to a year to get all issues addressed, depending on the complexity of your situation. Once you are established and balanced after the first year, we will want to see you bi-annually.

Insurance Coverage
We can provide you with the paperwork that contains the diagnostic and CPT codes that you can submit for possible reimbursement with your insurance company.
We do encourage you to contact your insurance company prior to your first visit to ask them what benefits they give for seeing an out-of-network provider and for comprehensive lab work. If for some reason they will not cover lab fees, we can offer our patients a substantial self-pay discount and we will work with you to keep costs within your budget.
You are also able to use Health Saving Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs).
As I have been coming to see Dr. Berutti for twenty-three years plus, I have come to trust her opinion and methods. I was not in good health when I first came in and met her. Methodically she moved through my different conditions one by one. I can see now what the difference her medicine has made. I am 62 years of age and feeling very strong in all body, mind, and spirit. This is due to her knowledge of medicine. I truly recommend her as the Doctor for you.” – Paul R.
What is Functional Medicine?
Dr. Lyn Berutti and her Physician Assistant, Melanie Martin, use a functional medicine approach in treating their patients. To better explain exactly what that is, let’s first examine the conventional medicine model of practice.
Conventional medicine is appropriate in many situations and works very well for things like acute infections, trauma, acute diseases, and life-threatening and serious illness. Physicians will use treatments such as surgeries, antibiotics, drugs, etc., to treat their patients and this can be very beneficial and life-saving in many circumstances.
However, in many cases, this is not the approach needed to restore the patient to health and vitality. Probably the biggest difference between the conventional medicine model and the functional model is that functional medicine asks why the problem exists in the first place and works to seek the root causes of diseases and dysfunction, rather than just prescribing medications for its symptoms.
Functional medicine recognizes that your symptom isn’t necessarily the same thing as your diagnosis. So many people are living with chronic illnesses, hormonal imbalances, thyroid problems, and autoimmune diseases that their quality of life is grossly disrupted. They are not getting answers from the conventional medical community. Functional medicine is a drastically different model of practice.
Ways We Practice Functional Medicine:
- Spending more time with their patients (often an hour or more).
- Quality discussions regarding histories, symptoms, lifestyle, stressors, diet, exercise, etc.
- Take the time to hear your concerns and answer your questions.
- COMPREHENSIVE and science-based lab work.
- Taking the whole body, symptoms, and history into account to get a whole picture.
- Working to find the underlying or root causes of symptoms.
- Focusing on prevention and cures through nutrition, diet, exercise, hormone balance, and medications as needed.
Correcting hormonal imbalances with bioidentical hormone replacement therapy is a specialty of ours. Imbalances in the endocrine systems can wreak havoc on the way people feel and can have cascading effects on other health issues. In functional medicine, possible underlying issues are explored and addressed when found. When the underlying problem is correctly diagnosed and treated, the symptoms disappear.
Here at our office, your provider will sit down and establish a meaningful dialogue with you regarding your history and current state of health. She will run some comprehensive labs which will provide answers about the overall state of your health. She will go over those with you in detail and establish treatment protocols as needed to help to get your body back in balance hormonally, nutritionally, and holistically. Help, hope, and health are what we strive to offer our patients!

Bioidentical Hormone Safety in Southlake
There can be confusion about the differences between synthetic hormone replacement and bioidentical hormone replacement. To make matters worse, some providers use the term “natural” to describe whatever it is they’re prescribing and its meaning is vague.
We prescribe hormones that are all bioidentical. This means that the compound that they’re made from are able to match what the body produces naturally. A common synthetic hormone that is often prescribed by doctors is estrogen made from the urine of pregnant mares and, while it can be deemed “natural”, its molecular compound in no way matches that of the human body.
Some providers only want to prescribe synthetic hormones because those have been patented and are sold by pharmaceutical companies. However, while these synthetics may help with some symptoms, they often come with unwanted side effects, and large, long-term studies have shown that they can have significant risks.
I’ve been a patient of Dr. Lyn Berutti’s for about 18 years. You will not find a more respected physician in both her fields of internal medicine and anti-aging. She is everything you would like to see in a doctor: knowledgeable, kind, and respectful and she listens to her patients! Her staff is wonderful. Dr. B. spends time with you and she truly cares about your health. A+ for her!” – Debbie M.
